Meet Gosford’s latest More Than a Number, Tammie!

Status
Domestic engineer.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
I was very athletic as a child, I participated in soccer, baseball, long jump, sprints and relay races, and ten pin bowling. I stayed active into my 20’s raising 3 children.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
When I first joined in January 2017 it was to lose weight for a friend’s wedding and our 35th wedding anniversary cruise in November 2017.

Have you achieved what you set out to do?
Not yet, still a work in progress

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I felt they were very impersonal, and not very welcoming. I find Planet Fitness to be very welcoming and much more personable. I have had the pleasure (and sore muscles) to work with a few of the trainers, both one on one and in group settings. They are all knowledgeable and encouraging.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
To lose the remainder of my weight and keep it off by continuing with the gym 3 to 4 days a week.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Bad knees and wrist, as well as staying away from comfort foods.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
Watching friends work hard to reach their fitness goals and sharing stories and/or concerns with them.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
Monday – xtrainer, Tuesday – cardio and upper body weight training, Wednesday – xtrainer and pilates, Thursday – cardio and lower body weight training, Friday – spinn. And the occasional weekend hike on the beautiful Central Coast.
