Meet Belmont’s More Than a Number, Max!

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes and no, like most guys I played quite a bit of sport in my younger days. Sporting retirement and parenthood lead to a neglect on my part towards my health and fitness activities for a while there.

What have you done previously?
I played a lot of cricket and local AFL, back to back for about 15 years.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Just the typical vague goal of losing some weight and getting into shape, to regain some level of base fitness, and as a result become a healthier version of myself again.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
Definitely moving in the right direction, I’m a lot fitter and healthier than when I started, but not planning on stopping anytime soon! It’s an ongoing journey not a destination.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I’ve always enjoyed gyms when I’ve attended on and off over the years. I really enjoy the vibe at Planet Fitness Belmont, all are welcome, staff are friendly and supportive, you get to know the familiar faces even if not all of their names!

What are your fitness goals for the future?
Just to continue regularly working out, eating well, and continuing to improve my health.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
I think mentally just to keep going, and to not be discouraged at any apparent lack of “progress” in the short term. Lasting results take time.

Do you have any sources of inspiration? If so, who/what are they?
My two children, Alexandra & Lloyd. Just wanting to make sure I will be around fit and healthy for a long time to look out for them.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights at Planet Fitness Belmont. Tuesday and Thursday at Belmont Golf Club driving range. Saturday and Sunday looking after the kids and walking the dogs!
