Meet Charlestown’s More Than a Number, Jake!
Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
I have always been involved in some kind of sport at a casual/ club level. Ice Hockey, Basketball, Rugby, Soccer and Martial Arts. Unfortunately, I haven’t played in a few years but really want to get back into it.
Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
I had three goals:
– Look good for my mates wedding
– Gain Confidence
– Hit under 100kgs
Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
Achieved all of my goals and set more!
What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I assumed that gym culture was very uninviting. Now I have met so many great people and made great friends here at Planet Fitness.
What are your fitness goals for the future?
– Hit 90kg
– Achieve 1 pull up
– Develop more body tone
Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Bad diet mixed with bad mental outlook. When I’m not feeling the best I eat very unhealthy.
Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
My friends here at Planet, my super supportive girlfriend and my trainer Paige!
What advice do you have for those who are thinking of joining Planet Fitness?
Just do it! Put in the work, turn up everyday and you’ll reap the rewards!
What is your weekly fitness regime?
5-6 days a week for 1.5 hour session.
