Meet Lambton’s latest More Than a Number, Gabrielle!
Just finished studying, a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Zoology.
Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes, I have played football (soccer) since the age of 5, I love long distance running and at university I’ve played all types of intercollegiate sports from water polo to basketball.
Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Initially I just wanted to remain fit and healthy. Then I was selected as a national finalist for Miss Multiverse Australia 2017. Planet Fitness has been an incredible help preparing me for Nationals later this year, especially their amazing PTs.
Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
Yes, although there is still some progress to come, I’m definitely achieving what I set out to do!
What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
Just a place to work out and leave again. Yes Planet Fitness has become like an extended family/friend network. They are always so friendly and interested in what I’ve been doing – which definitely makes me feel like more than a number being scanned in.
What are your fitness goals for the future?
Once I achieve my goals for the Miss Multiverse competition, I want to maintain it with a healthy and active routine.
Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Knee injury from sport and finding time in a very busy schedule. Also, maintaining mental motivation can be very demanding.
Do you have sources if inspiration? If so, what are they?
Obviously fit and toned amazing bodies of celebrities are. But I also get inspiration from those around me who are confident and content in themselves, because what I ultimately aspire to is to be happy with who I am.
What is your weekly fitness regime?
Generally, gym 4-5 times a week and football training twice a week with a weekend game.
What is your favourite quote?
“I’d rather be weird than boring”
