The Health Benefits of Spa Treatments

By admin 0

Everyone loves a relaxing day at the spa. But with all of the demands of daily life, it can be difficult to justify the down time. What you might not know, is that some spa treatments come with enough health benefits to build a serious case for putting time aside. Especially the spa treatments listed below.

Massage: more than a relaxing spa treatment?

While massage is widely known as a spa treatment for its relaxation benefits, it also provides an effective way of relieving muscle soreness. Many athletes and fitness enthusiasts also incorporate regular massage into their pre-workout routine to reduce recovery time by aiding muscle swelling and tension.

At our Planet Fitness Spa, we’ve provided members with hydromassage rooms and massage chairs because when added to a training routine, massage helps prevent injury and fatigue, relieves muscle aches, and promotes flexibility and psychological wellbeing. We want all of our members to be primed for optimal performance during their gym sessions and group training classes and to stay injury free.

The benefits of Infrared Sauna

While some people hate the idea of sitting in a boiling hot room, new infrared sauna technology allows you to reap the health benefits of saunas without feeling like you’re about to melt. Among these health benefits, you can experience better sleep, detoxification, weight loss, improved circulation, relief from joint pain and muscle soreness, as well as better skin.

The health benefits listed above are why we’ve added an infrared sauna to our spa treatments to a number of Planet Fitness health clubs. These saunas use light to heat your body directly rather than heating the air around you.

Alternative Approaches with Acupuncture

While acupuncture is not quite a spa treatment and isn’t offered at Planet Fitness, it’s an alternative medicine that has been proven to offer a number of health benefits. If you suffer from lower back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, knee pain or persistent headaches, acupuncture may offer you relief. And given that these health concerns can severely inhibit a person’s ability to maintain their health and fitness, getting them sorted is important.

That being said, if you believe that the aforementioned health concerns could be due to using gym equipment incorrectly or overexertion in your fitness routine, get in touch with one of our qualified personal trainers for advice on what to do next.
