Meet Belmont’s latest More Than a Number, Josh!

Status
Full time work.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Not really, I played soccer when I was younger but that’s it.

What brought you to Planet Fitness?
The convenient location, the Judgement free aspect and all the staff are very supportive and help to keep me motivated.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Yes to be healthier and get below 100kg.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
I started this journey in September 2017 (less a 3 week cruise in December) and this is the most I’ve committed I have been so far. I have lost 34kg and I am feeling great, I’m still well on track to achieve my goal.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I was always a very self conscious person and thought gyms were for people who are already fit, and to be honest I was afraid to try.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
Keep doing what I’m doing and get to my goal of under 100kg.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
My fear of self consciousness and a soft drink addiction.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
Not really, I’m doing this for myself and to better myself as a person. My Mum is also a great source of inspiration and keeps me going.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
I do an hour of cardio every morning, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons I do 45 minutes of toning circuit.

Favourite quote?
If you’re happy, if you’re feeling good, then nothing else matters.
