Meet Gosford’s latest More Than a Number, Margaret!

Status
Part time gardener.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes, have done long daily walk for the last 40 years. I always walk up flights of stairs instead of taking the lift.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Approximately 12 years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, after refusing to take the drug I was advised to commence gym work to strengthen core muscles which would support bone structure.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
Yes, attend gym 5 days per week, without this I would not be able to live my active lifestyle.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
My perception was “those places are only for fit young people”. For me Planet is now like my second home.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
To continue on my fitness regime.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Needed to have two major operations in 2017. On both occasions I struggled in and re-commenced my gym work. I took it slowly and built up my strength and fitness until I fully recovered.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
To continue on this path for as long as possible.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
Workout on 8 strength building machines plus warm ups. 40 minutes per morning of stretching at home, 45 minute daily tough walk. As a gardener I come across a lot of touch and challenging work.
