Meet Belmont’s latest More Than a Number, Kerrie!

Status
Full time work.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes, except for about a decade when my children were little, I played touch football, soccer, and tennis, as well as doing aerobics and jogging.

What brought you to Planet Fitness?
After 10 years or so it was time to exercise again as I have a desk job. Also, I’m getting older, I had health issues that needed sorting and a lower back problem.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
To improve my general health and wellbeing, and to sort out my back problem.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
My back problem has been sorted, and I’ve never felt better. I have significantly reduced my chances of heart disease, and my sugar levels, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure have all be greatly improved.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I thought I may have been the odd man out, however there are many other members just like me.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
To continue my general wellbeing and to lose weight. To improve my general health.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Food, beer and old age.

Do you have sources if inspiration? If so, what are they?
The thought of getting older inspires me to try and feel younger by exercising. Exercise to stay alive and enjoy life.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
I usually come 3 times a week and do a mix of bikes, rowing, weights, and stretches.

What is your favourite quote?
“Use it or lose it.”
